It allows you to protect HAT boards and other electronic components that you might want for your project. It's made of ABS plastic and will have to be cut, drilled, or modified for your application. The case also helps protect the ethernet and USB ports on the Pi B+, 2 and 3.
This is the Large 37mm deep cover, but we also offer SmartiPi's Small 15mm deep cover.
